Dopo diverse indiscrezioni Archos annuncia oggi il suo internet tablet Android di fatto lanciando il primo media device basato sul sistema operativo di Google. Ovviamente non rappresenta l’unico prodotto di questo tipo in commercio, oltre agli smartphone esistono già prodotti dedicati all’audio/video come lo Zune di Microsoft e l’iPod touch di Apple, proprio per questo, l’Archos cerca di differenziarsi offrendo uno schermo da 5 pollici, un modem HSDPA interno, una cpu Cortex A8 da ben 800 Mhz con GPU e ovviamente il sottosistema Android.
Android non ha ancora dimostrato di saper gestire video HD tuttavia date le caratteristiche hardware di questo dispositivo (caratteristiche che speriamo di vedere prima o poi anche in un telefono) siamo confidenti che i risultati possano essere all’altezza delle aspettative. L’accesso al Market inoltre potrebbe dare quella spinta in più a questo prodotto vista la grande quantità di applicazioni free. Interessante la presenza di una radio FM e di un GPS che rendono questo oggetto ideale sia come media station che come navigatore satellitare, sul sito è già possibile ordinarlo, 299€ per la versione da 32GB e a 349€ per la versione da 160GB.
